In Memory of Nancy Koppelman

Dear One Heart World-Wide Friends and Family,

Our dearly beloved board member, Nancy Koppelman, passed away at home at 3:24 a.m. on Friday, May 26th surrounded by her family and friends.

Nancy lived her life with zest, vitality, exuberance, sparkle, gusto and passion in spades. She made every day the best ever, both for herself and those around her. Every person she met was her new best friend. We all thought we were her “favorite” and I loved that about her.

She devoted her life to women’s rights and served on the boards of several nonprofits, including Global Neighborhood Fund, Direct Relief, Girls, Inc. and many others. She believed in goodness, equality for women, and the idea that love conquers all.

I met her after delivering a presentation at Direct Relief in Santa Barbara. She came up to me and said, “Please come back and stay with me in my home.” Her home was spacious, filled with love & light, and a place where she entertained presidents, politicians, and all sorts of interesting personalities. We will all miss her more than any words could ever convey.

In her honor, One Heart World-Wide will be naming a birthing center on a high peak with a vast view, just as Nancy would have loved. If you would like to make a contribution in her honor, you can do so on our website at: donate.oneheartworld-wide.org.

We would love for you to share any stories or memories that you have of Nancy in the comments below. Let’s keep her memory alive and near us.

Sincerely,

Arlene Samen
